Het Cherry Blossom Festival 2018 in Amstelveen is vrij toegankelijk

Zaterdag 7 april 2018 vindt het jaarlijkse Kersenbloesemfestival in Amstelveen plaats. Met dit festival vieren Japanners de komst van de lente. U bent van harte welkom om vanaf 13.15 uur het festival met ons mee te vieren. Tijdens het festival zijn er diverse optredens. Van drummers tot zang en demonstraties. En natuurlijk zijn er traditionele Japanse hapjes en drankjes te koop. Ook voor kinderen is er van alles te doen. Het festival geeft echt een kijkje in het Japanse leven. Een leuke én gezellige manier om kennis te maken met Japan.

In Japan is het traditie om met familie en vrienden onder de bloeiende kersenbomen te picknicken. Bloemen - en de natuur in het algemeen - hebben in Japan een symbolische betekenis. De kersenbloesem staat voor een nieuw begin maar verwijst tegelijkertijd naar de vergankelijkheid van het leven. Amsterdam inbusiness organiseert jaarlijks het Kersenbloesemfestival voor de Japanse gemeenschap als dank voor de schenking van de kersenbomen. Deze bomen werden in 2000 door de Japanese Women’s Club geschonken aan de gemeente. Voor de organisatie van het festival wordt samengewerkt met de Japanse Ambassade, Dujat, Japanse Kamer van Koophandel, The Japan Women’s Club. Voor Japanse expats is het kersenbloesemfestival een stukje thuis dat zeer wordt gewaardeerd.

Praktische zaken. Het festival is toegankelijk vanaf 13.15 uur. Mocht u overwegen om met regenachtig weer ook naar het festival te komen, hou er rekening mee dat het festival in de buitenlucht plaatsvindt. The Cherry Blossom Festival 2018 in Amstelveen is open to the public

On Saturday, April 7, 2018, the annual Cherry Blossom Festival takes place in Amstelveen. With this festival the Japanese celebrate the arrival of spring. You are welcome to join us at the festival from 13.15 hrs. During the festival there will be several performances. From drummers to singing and demonstrations. And of course there are traditional Japanese snacks and drinks for sale. For children there is also plenty to do. The festival really gives a glimpse into Japanese life. A fun and cozy way to get acquainted with Japan.

In Japan it is a tradition to picnic with family and friends under the blossoming cherry trees. Flowers - and nature in general - have a symbolic meaning in Japan. The cherry blossom represents a new beginning, but at the same time refers to the transience of life. Amsterdam inbusiness organises the annual Cherry Blossom Festival for the Japanese community as a thank you for donating the cherry trees. These trees were donated to the municipality by the Japanese Women's Club in 2000. The festival is organised in collaboration with the Japanese Embassy, Dujat, Japanese Chamber of Commerce, The Japan Women's Club. For Japanese expats, the cherry blossom festival is a piece of home that is highly appreciated.

Practical matters. The festival is accessible from 13.15 hrs. If you are considering coming to the festival with rainy weather, keep in mind that the festival takes place in the open air. You can park on the grounds of Land van Bosse, in the Amsterdamse Bos and from there walk to the park. At the park itself you can not park.
