Het Diwali Festival 2021 is op het Stadsplein Amstelveen

Het Diwali Festival Amstelveen is terug van weggeweest en wordt voor de 13de keer georganiseerd en gevierd op het oude vertrouwde Stadsplein Amstelveen! Op zaterdag 30 oktober 2021 van 12.00 tot 19.00 uur is het Stadsplein weer toegankelijk voor jong en oud.

In verband met de nog steeds geldende COVID-19 maatregelen moet u wel in het bezit zijn van geldige een Corona-QR-code en moet u zich vooraf geregistreerd hebben via: www.diwalifestival.nl Het Diwali Festival Amstelveen is een van de hoogtepunten van Amstelveen. Diwali wordt in heel India gevierd, ongeacht de achtergrond of de religie van de desbetreffende persoon. Diwali is de meest belangrijke tijd in het land. Diwali symboliseert de overwinning van het goede over kwade en het licht over de duisternis.

Het programma zal net als andere jaren even kleurrijk zijn! Zo zullen vele artiesten hun optredens verzorgen. Uiteraard zullen er weer verschillende restaurants zijn en kunt u ook uw smaakpapillen weer laten prikkelen, want ook nu weer zullen er heerlijke gerechten geserveerd worden.

Diwali Festival Amstelveen verbindt niet alleen verschillende culturen en achtergronden, Diwali Festival Amstelveen verenigt ook mensen zoals dat ook in India gebeurt. Niet alleen mensen uit de India diaspora zoals bijvoorbeeld de expats zijn normaliter aanwezig op het Stadsplein van Amstelveen. Ook lokale inwoners, expats uit andere landen zijn trouwe deelnemers. Het belangrijkste doel van het Diwali Festival is het versterken van de relaties tussen de Indiase zakenwereld en de lokale en regionale bedrijven met als hoogste doel om de lokale bewoners, de Indiase gemeenschap en de bedrijven in Amstelveen en omgeving met elkaar te verbinden.

De restauranthouders hebben enorme hoeveelheden gekookte en gebakken etenswaren meegenomen. Bij het Diwali Festival hoort ook de tent vol met eten

Het Diwali Festival was een initiatief van de heer Gopal Ramanathan. Zijn nalatenschap is nog steeds zichtbaar via het officiële platform van Stichting Diwali Festival, alwaar organisaties en bedrijven zoals Gemeente Amstelveen, KPMG, TCS, Cognizant, Allen & Overy, Sun Pharma, Briddge, Mehra holding, Abingh en Bridging the Gap Foundation tezamen het bestuur van de stichting vormen. De laatste 12 edities van het festival waren een groot succes. Wij hopen dat wij van de 13de editie van het festival op zaterdag 30 oktober 2021 wederom een groot succes kunnen maken.

Diwali, Divali, Deepavali of Dipavali is een vier tot vijf dagen durend (variërend volgens de Hindoe-kalender) lichtfeest, dat elke herfst op het noordelijk halfrond (lente op het zuidelijk halfrond) wordt gevierd door hindoes, Jains, Sikhs en sommige boeddhisten. Diwali is één van de populairste feesten van het Hindoeïsme en staat symbool voor de spirituele 'overwinning van het licht op de duisternis, van het goede op het kwade en van kennis op onwetendheid'. Licht is een metafoor voor kennis en bewustzijn. Tijdens de viering zijn tempels, huizen, winkels en kantoorgebouwen helder verlicht. De voorbereidingen, en rituelen, voor het festival duren doorgaans vijf dagen, waarbij de climax op de derde dag samenvalt met de donkerste nacht van de Hindoestaanse maanmaand Kartika. In de Gregoriaanse kalender valt het festival meestal tussen half oktober en half november.



Registratie voor dit evenement is verplicht vóór het evenement of op de dag zelf. Daarnaast zullen we ons houden aan de COVID19 regels van de Nederlandse overheid. The Diwali Festival Amstelveen is back and will be organised and celebrated for the 13th time at the old familiar Stadsplein Amstelveen! On Saturday 30 October 2021 from 12.00 to 19.00, the Stadsplein will be open again for young and old.

Because of the COVID-19 measures that are still in force, you must be in possession of a valid Corona QR-code and you must have registered in advance via: www.diwalifestival.nl  The Diwali Festival Amstelveen is one of the highlights of Amstelveen. Diwali is celebrated all over India, irrespective of the person's background or religion. Diwali is the most important time in the country. Diwali symbolises the victory of good over evil and light over darkness.

The programme will be just as colourful as in other years! Many artists will be performing. Of course, there will be several restaurants again, so you can let your taste buds tingle, as there will be delicious dishes again.

Diwali Festival Amstelveen not only connects different cultures and backgrounds, Diwali Festival Amstelveen also unites people as it does in India. Not only people from the India Diaspora such as expats are normally present in Amstelveen's Stadsplein. Local residents and expatriates from other countries are also loyal participants. The main purpose of the Diwali Festival is to strengthen the relations between the Indian business community and the local and regional companies with the highest aim of connecting the local residents, the Indian community and the companies in Amstelveen and its surroundings.

The Diwali Festival was an initiative of Mr Gopal Ramanathan. His legacy is still visible through the official platform of Diwali Festival Foundation, where organisations and companies like Municipality of Amstelveen, KPMG, TCS, Cognizant, Allen & Overy, Sun Pharma, Briddge, Mehra holding, Abingh and Bridging the Gap Foundation together form the board of the foundation. The last 12 editions of the festival were a great success. We hope to make the 13th edition of the festival on Saturday 30 October 2021 another great success.

The restaurant owners have brought huge quantities of cooked and fried food. The Diwali Festival also includes the tent full of food

Light is a metaphor for knowledge and awareness. During the celebration, temples, houses, shops and office buildings are brightly lit. The preparations, and rituals, for the festival usually last five days, with the climax on the third day coinciding with the darkest night of the Hindu lunar month of Kartika. In the Gregorian calendar, the festival usually falls between mid-October and mid-November.
