Over Bridging the Gap Foundation: Bridging the Gap Foundation (BTG) werd opgericht in 2009 en heeft zich sindsdien ontwikkeld tot een dynamisch platform dat de Nederlandse en Indiase gemeenschappen met elkaar verbindt. BTG staat bekend om haar levendige evenementen en speelt een cruciale rol in het bevorderen van interculturele samenwerking. De stichting organiseert diverse vieringen, waaronder Holi, Diwali, Kinderdag en Garba, en stimuleert actieve betrokkenheid binnen de lokale gemeenschap.

Holi is een populair en belangrijk hindoeïstisch festival dat wordt gevierd als het Festival van Kleuren, Liefde en Lente. Het viert de eeuwige en goddelijke liefde van de godheden Radha en Krishna. Bovendien symboliseert de dag de triomf van het goede over het kwade, omdat het de overwinning van Vishnu als Narasimha op Hiranyakashipu herdenkt. Holi is ontstaan en wordt voornamelijk gevierd op het Indiase subcontinent, maar heeft zich ook verspreid naar andere regio's van Azië en delen van de westerse wereld via de Indiase diaspora.

Holi viert ook de komst van de lente in India, het einde van de winter en de bloei van de liefde. Het is ook een aanroeping voor een goed oogstseizoen in de lente. Het duurt een nacht en een dag, beginnend op de avond van de Purnima (volle maan) die valt op de hindoeïstische kalendermaand Phalguna, die rond half maart valt in de Gregoriaanse kalender.

BTG is known for its vibrant events and plays a crucial role in promoting intercultural cooperation. Holi is a popular and important Hindu festival celebrated as the Festival of Colors, Love and Spring. It celebrates the eternal and divine love of the deities Radha and Krishna. Furthermore, the day symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, as it commemorates the victory of Vishnu as Narasimha over Hiranyakashipu. Holi originated and is celebrated primarily in the Indian subcontinent, but has also spread to other regions of Asia and parts of the Western world through the Indian diaspora.

Holi also celebrates the coming of spring in India, the end of winter and the blossoming of love. It is also an invocation for a good harvest season in spring. It lasts for a night and a day, beginning on the evening of Purnima (full moon) which falls on the Hindu calendar month of Phalguna, which falls around mid-March in the Gregorian calendar.
